The Danger Guys series, by Tony Abbott

Book 1: Danger Guys
Noodle and Zeek go to the grand opening of a Danger Guys adventure store. Among all of the typical survival gear, there is a table of golden masks, little statues, and jewelry. When Noodle and Zeek go into a small room filled with more “treasure,” they find themselves in the back of a truck. Before they can react, the truck engine starts, and the boys are whisked away. After traveling a while, the truck hits a deep rut, the back doors pop open, and the boys escape. They fall down a hidden tunnel and into an underground river. Following the river, Noodle and Zeek discover an underground temple and the Emersons, a famous exploring duo. Mr. Emerson tells the boys that the thieves set off an ancient booby trap when they forced open the temple door. Can Noodle and Zeek save the day before everyone drowns?

He keeps muttering, “It’s mine.” The attendant tells the man that the rockets are for kids only so he gets out, and the Danger Guys get in. Before they know what’s happening, the rocket breaks loose from the ride and blasts away from the carnival. It crashes in Mayville’s schoolyard and disappears underground. Book 3: Danger Guys: Hollywood Halloween
Mr. Pilinsky, Zeek’s dad, surprises the boys with tickets to Paragon Movie Studio. Every single movie the Danger Guys love was filmed at Paragon! The tour begins normally enough. Then, huge bolts of lightning shoot from the sky followed by a deluge of rain. Zeek and Noodle are so busy getting it all on camera, they don’t realize that everyone else has disappeared. As Noodle and Zeek turn to leave, a lightning bolt lands at their feet. A second bolt chases them into another soundstage where Metalhead, a seven-foot robot, blasts the door open so he can destroy the “invaders.” As one scary special effect follows another, Noodles remembers that the studio’s special effects are controlled by one big computer. Maybe the lightning fried the Big Brain’s brain! That means that their families are in danger, too!

Book 4: Danger Guys Hit the Beach
The Danger Guys are at the beach and feeling a bit bored. Their boredom disappears when the surfers start talking about the Golden Crest and a sea monster that lives near a barely visible island. While the guys ask questions, Zeke loses control of a ten-foot surfboard. He knocks himself, Noodle, and the surfboard into a nearby motorboat. As Zeke falls, his foot hits the motor’s power switch, and the Danger Guys are off careening through the water. First, the boat’s motor won’t turn off, then, after a swift purposeful kick, it won’t turn on. Of course, the boat springs a leak and fills with water. As their fate hangs in the balance, the sea monster rears its slimy snout, bulging eyes, and snaky clawed arms. The boys use the surfboard to escape to the barely visible island. There, they find treasure hunters preparing to blow up a pirate ship. Can the Danger Guys save Mayville from the tidal wave the blast will create?
